    Water
  • 4 tbsp
    Oil
  • 4 oz
    Garbanzo Beans, Canned Or Cooked, Optional

Chahohbili is a flavorful Georgian chicken stew with tomatoes, garlic, cilantro, dill, and parsley. This version uses chicken breast and adds garbanzo beans for extra texture and substance.

Directions
  • Step 1

    Heat a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.

  • Step 2

    Add the oil to the pan.

  • Step 3

    Add the chicken strips and sauté until well browned.

  • Step 4

    Add the chopped onion and continue cooking until the onion is soft and golden.

  • Step 5

    Add the crushed tomatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes.

  • Step 6

    Add the cilantro, parsley, dill, and crushed garlic and stir to combine.

  • Step 7

    Add the water and optional garbanzo beans. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, then simmer for 15 minutes.

  • Step 8

    Serve hot by itself with bread or over rice, potatoes, quinoa, couscous, or another side of your choice.
