Wild salmon is baked with lemon, olive oil, salt, and pepper, then finished with a fresh dill-garlic sauce for a light, flavorful main course.

Directions
  • Step 1

    Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  • Step 2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place the salmon on the prepared sheet.

  • Step 3

Season the salmon with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  • Step 4

Squeeze the juice from half of the lemon over the salmon.

  • Step 5

Drizzle a small portion of the olive oil over the fish and rub it evenly over the surface.

  • Step 6

Bake the salmon uncovered for 13–15 minutes, taking care not to overcook it.

  • Step 7

While the salmon bakes, combine the crushed garlic, chopped dill, juice from the remaining lemon half, and the remaining olive oil in a small bowl.

  • Step 8

Season the dill sauce with a little salt and freshly ground black pepper, then mix well.

  • Step 9

Transfer the cooked salmon to a platter or individual serving plates.

  • Step 10

Spoon the dill sauce over the salmon and serve, with rice if desired.
